Tree care and tree surgery for Kildare, Dublin and Meath gardens
Trees add privacy, shelter and character, until they start blocking light, overhanging a neighbour or dropping branches. We help you keep them healthy, safe and the right size for your garden.

When a tree needs attention
Most people get in touch when a tree has crept up on them: the garden has gone dark, branches are leaning over the roof or the boundary, or a storm has left a split limb hanging.
Often the tree doesn't need to come down at all. Careful reduction or thinning can bring back light and remove the risk, while keeping the tree you've grown used to.
How we help
Tree surgery is simply planned work on a tree: removing specific branches to reduce its size, open up the canopy, lift it clear of a roof or path, or take out dead and damaged wood.
We look at the whole tree first (its species, shape, health and what's around it), then agree with you exactly what will be cut and what the tree should look like afterwards.
What's included
- An initial look at the tree, by photo or on site
- A written quote setting out what will be cut

Before we start
Safety, access and permissions
Every site is different. These are the things that shape how a job is done — and what it costs.
- Every job starts with an assessment of the tree, the ground and what's nearby: buildings, sheds, fences, cars and overhead cables.
- Some trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order or sit in an Architectural Conservation Area. If yours might be, check with your local council before work is booked.
- If a tree is touching or close to overhead power lines, keep well clear and contact ESB Networks. That work needs to be coordinated with them.
- Green waste: Whether green waste is taken away, chipped on site or left neatly for your brown bin depends on the job. We'll set this out clearly in your quote so there are no surprises.
The process
How the job works
- 01
Step 1: Send photos or book a visit
A few photos of the tree from different angles is usually enough to get started.
- 02
Step 2: Agree the plan
We explain what we'd cut, why, and how the tree will look, then give you a clear price.
- 03
Step 3: Work carried out
Branches are cut in sections and lowered carefully where space is tight.
- 04
Step 4: Tidy finish
Lawns, beds and paths are cleared of debris before we leave.

FAQs
Tree care: common questions
Will cutting back my tree harm it?
Done properly, no. The aim is to remove the right branches in the right places rather than lopping the top off. Heavy, indiscriminate cutting is what causes problems, and we'll tell you honestly if a tree can't be reduced as much as you'd like.
Do I need permission to prune a tree?
For most garden trees, no. The exceptions are trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order or in a conservation area. Your council can confirm. If a tree overhangs from a neighbour's garden, it's good practice to talk to them first.
When is the best time of year for tree work?
Many trees can be worked on through most of the year. Some species are better pruned at particular times, and nesting birds need to be checked for in spring and summer. We'll suggest the best timing for your tree.
How much does tree work cost?
It depends on the size of the tree, how much is being cut, access, and how much waste there is. Photos let us give you a guide quickly; larger or awkward jobs are best priced on site.
