Dublin gardens are often small, overlooked and hard to get into, so tree and hedge work needs careful planning. We'll help you get the light, privacy and tidy garden you want.
A lot of Dublin gardens have a mature tree or tall hedge sitting very close to houses, walls and neighbours. That makes even simple jobs a bit more involved: branches need to be lowered carefully, and waste has to come out through tight spaces.
We plan for that from the start, so you know exactly how the job will be done, how waste will leave the garden, and what the space will look like when we're finished.
No side access
Many terraced and semi-detached homes have no side passage to the back garden. Branches and waste may have to come through the house. We'll talk through floor protection and the route before the day, so there are no surprises.
Close neighbours
With gardens back to back, overhanging branches and boundary hedges are a common source of friction. A careful reduction often solves the problem without removing a tree. It's always worth a quick chat with the neighbours before work starts.
Four councils
Dublin is split between Dublin City, Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown councils. Each has its own Tree Preservation Orders and conservation areas, so check with your own council if you think your tree might be protected.
Brown bins and green waste
Smaller trims can sometimes go in your brown bin, but tree and hedge work usually produces far more than a bin will hold. Your quote will make clear how waste is handled.
Tree Preservation Orders and conservation areas are managed by your local council. In Dublin, that's one of: Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council, South Dublin County Council, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council. If you think a tree might be protected, check with the council's planning department before any work is booked.

Questions from Dublin customers
Do you cover my part of Dublin?
Send us your Eircode or area and we'll confirm straight away.
Can you work in a garden with no side access?
Usually, yes. Cuttings and timber are bagged or cut small and carried through, with floors protected. We'll agree the route before the day.
Can you deal with a neighbour's tree overhanging my garden?
You can generally cut back branches overhanging your side, but it's better to agree it with your neighbour first. We're happy to talk through options with both of you.
