It happens to plenty of people. A busy couple of years, a new house with a neglected back garden, a rental property after a long tenancy, or a family home being got ready for sale. Before long, brambles and long grass have taken over and you can't use the space at all.
Step 1: Photos and a clear quote
Clearances vary more than any other garden job, so photos of the whole space help a lot. We'll want to know what you'd like to keep, how we get in (side gate or through the house) and whether there's anything hidden under the growth, like old fencing or rubble.
Step 2: Cutting back
Long grass, brambles, nettles and ivy are cut down first so you can see the shape of the garden again. Self-seeded saplings and unwanted shrubs come out. Overgrown hedges are cut back to a sensible line.
Step 3: Clearing the waste
This is the part people underestimate. Even a small Dublin back garden can produce a surprising amount of green waste. How it's handled is agreed in the quote so you're not left with a pile of bags. Household rubbish, rubble and anything hazardous isn't green waste and needs to be dealt with separately.
Step 4: A usable space
The garden is raked and tidied so you can walk out into it. From there you might want a new lawn, some planting, or simply regular maintenance so it doesn't get away from you again.
No side access?
A lot of Dublin terraces have no route to the back garden except through the house. It's still very doable. Waste is bagged or cut small and carried through, with floors protected. We'll agree the route with you before the day.
